Black space in the shape of a leaf and a tree are left for the rubbings to show. The back of each page is left black to leave a space for the materials. Instructions are added for use of a teacher or parent. The kids really enjoyed watching the leaf "appear" as they rubbed the paper over the leaf. They started to play with different textures, and some created their own drawings on the blank pages outside of the given shapes.
